Palmetto Giving Day 2017
Palmetto Giving Day was a great success on May 2nd.
This year's Giving Day was the fruit of a grassroots initiative conceived and made real by nonprofit leaders in Georgetown county soon after the Coastal Community Foundation announced that it would not be organizing the 2017 edition of Lowcountry Giving Day (LGD). Palmetto Giving Day was run in collaboration with Kimbia (the same platform that runs Midlands Give and ran LGD before 2016) and the Bunnelle Foundation.
30 years after its creation, ushered in by a landmark community's victory against the proposed siting of an oil refinery in Winyah Bay, SCELP remains the legal champion of South Carolina's natural environment and is proud to be call Georgetown home. These are challenging times for environmental causes, but SCELP has worked tirelessly for 30 years to protect our state's unique natural resources, and with your engagement our dedication will thrive for another generation.
These were SCELP's Giving Day Goals for this year:
- 200 donations
- 50 new donors
- 60 thousand dollars in total funds raised
