Tensions are rising in Georgetown County, and time is ticking for the county council to make a decision on the natural resource element.
An update to the comprehensive plan that has taken almost two years in twelve different meetings to work out.
Right now there are two drafts for the county to choose from that could dictate how to protect and conserve natural resources for the next ten years.
A new voice is in the discussion reminding the council Tuesday night that no public input and having this on the final approval agenda is unlawful.
Monica Whalen is the Staff Attorney at the South Carolina Environmental Law Project and said the revised draft was made without any residents' feedback.
