North Charleston Mayor Reggie Burgess released a statement Wednesday afternoon after the announcement of charges of eight people in a corruption investigation.
They include three North Charleston City Council members and five others whom the U.S. Attorney’s Office and FBI described as their associates.
North Charleston City Councilmen Jerome Heyward, Mike A. Brown and Sandino Moses face charges, according to Acting U.S. Attorney Brook Andrews.
Andrews said five others, Hason “Tory” Fields, Aaron Hicks, Donavan Moten, Rose Lorenzo and Michelle Stent-Hilton, also face charges in the 12-month corruption investigation.
