CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — Dozens of staff and volunteers from environmental organizations participated in a cleanup of Gadsden Creek, emphasizing their calls to protect the creek from development and revitalize it.
Organizers of the Earth Day cleanup say the event highlights the work they have been doing to revitalize the creek and protect the surrounding Gadsden Green community. The wetlands located at the intersection of Fishburne Street and Hagood Avenue used to be 100 acres, but have since diminished to four.
