Grants & Gifts

SCELP, as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is primarily funded by generous contributions of individuals, private foundations and other grant-making organizations. Every December, we publish the full list of the year's donors in our Winter Newsletter, but over the last several years we have received "foundational" support from the following institutions:

  • Gaylord and Dorothy Donnelley Foundation
  • The Coastal Community Foundation (CCF)
  • Frances P. Bunnelle Foundation
  • The Beaufort Fund of the CCF
  • Jolley Foundation
  • The Graham Foundation
  • Spaulding Paolozzi Foundation

Protecting South Carolina's natural environment for over 30 years required a lot of resources and our success would not have been possible without their partnership and support of many outstanding groups and individuals, including:

  • Robert and Jane Avinger Fund of the Foundation for the Carolinas
  • The Bakker Family Fund of the CCF
  • Frank & Ranlet Bell
  • The Henry M. Blackmer Foundation
  • The Bridging Peace Fund of the Tides Foundation
  • Butler Conservation Fund
  • Frances Close/The Springs Close Foundation
  • Richard & Barbara Cross
  • John Mark & Robin Dean
  • Harry Dalton
  • Jon & Margaret Fabri
  • Paul & Carmela Haklisch
  • Richard & Jamie Harpootlian
  • Harriet & Herbert Keyserling Endowment of CCF
  • Robert L. Huffines, Jr. Foundation
  • The Joanna Foundation
  • Charles & Virginia Lane
  • Jerry & Tammy McGee
  • Michael & Virginia PrevostĀ
  • Fred Stanback Fund of the Foundation for the Carolinas
  • TurtleCon Fund at the Cleveland Foundation
